Benefit Recording

For quite some time and with great anticipation we had looked forward to producing a CD with the renowned American organist and composer, Dr. Lucius Weathersby.   When the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina occurred in 2005, we were in the middle of the recording process, and were thus inspired to make this a benefit CD for the storm's victims.  The proceeds from this project were to assist the church musicians of the Gulf Coast region who were affected by Katrina's devastation.

Not long after his visit to Europe, we were stunned to learn of Dr. Weathersby's untimely death, and we are still filled with sympathy and saddened by this terrible loss.  The world of music has lost a true humanitarian and a genuinely good person, who in his travels to Germany made many friends.

In the interim his manager, David J. Hart had been working on the project, but unfortunately he was forced to stop due to illness. So the CD is not complete, but those parts that were finished are available for download in the Media section.

On one of his concert tours in Germany, Hart was accompanied by Chris Oelkers, another American organist hailing from Austin, Texas who also gave several concerts on various Hey organs. Oelkers was very enthused with the Hey organs, and was inspired to write an article published by the American Guild of Organists' own publication  "The American Organist".
